ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

| Troy
Thorne
Creative director, woodworker, and active Scouting
volunteer Troy Thorne drew on his artistic roots and
personal experience, as well as the experiences of other
top Derby car designers, to create this book on cool
designs for hot Derby cars. A graduate of Savannah College
of Art and Design, Troy spent 10 years as senior art
director for a large advertising agency before becoming
creative director of Fox Chapel Publishing. He builds
furniture and canoes in his spare time and participates
in Scouting activities with his son, Nathan, who was
a national finalist in the All-Star Derby Design Contest.
Troy's latest project is a street-legal AC Cobra replica.
